As this sizzling summer draws to an end, we really don't need an excuse to go and grab a cocktail or a cold beer, but dust off your pom-poms because September's theme is the Back-to-School Takeover. As those little yellow buses start to reappear in your neighborhood, dig out your favorite school jersey or uniform (Back-to-School Brittany anyone?) and show off your alma mater, university colors, or high school mascots (there's one free drink in it for those who participate this month). We will, as always, school the straights of Dallas in how we do this with class. Where you have recess is up to you.
As usual, we will tell you where to be when the bell rings the day before and will add essential details at that time. So, start hitting those back-to-school sales now!.

An idea that was started in San Francisco in 2000, the Guerilla Gay Bar concept has spread around the US and the world in many variations and forms. Here are the basics: we pick a straight bar in the Dallas area once a month, invite a gaggle of gays to show up unannounced, push play and see what happens. We tell you the date, time and theme a couple of weeks before, but the location is kept a secret until one day before. On the second Friday of every month, we all show up at the chosen establishment and have a beer or two...easy and it's a blast. This isn't about being militant or shocking people or getting up in straight people's grills. It's just about showing folks that we exist outside of the ghetto, being adventurous and seeing new places to hang out, and making new friends outside of the regular "gay bar" setting.
The organizers of Guerilla Gay Bar Dallas do not promote or encourage the consumption of alcohol by individuals under the age of 21. Participants are individually responsible for their behavior during attendance and their transportation. Guerilla Gay Bar Dallas reminds all participants to drink responsibly and not drive under the influence of alcohol.
